Course Overview

This introductory 2-day course is designed to teach the basics of simulation and SIMUL8 for healthcare applications. Our trainers have a great deal of recent experience in developing large scale healthcare simulation models, so you can be sure to get the practical advice you will need to get your own projects off to a great start. Class sizes are kept small to ensure individual attention and lots of hands-on experience.

By the end of the course you'll be able to undertake your own simulation projects and identify projects for which simulation is an appropriate tool.

Pre-Course Requirements

The only prerequisite for attending this training course is that you must have some general PC knowledge including the use of files and directories, as well as familiarity with basic spreadsheet applications.

It is useful for the delegate to have a basic understanding of the areas they'd like to simulate after the course. This gives the delegate the opportunity to discuss their applications during the course.

  • Including appointments, walk-ins, and emergencies
  • Modeling multiple patient types
  • Incorporating multiple providers and exam rooms
  • Exploring various clinical pathways
  • Prioritization schemes and 'fast-tracking'
  • Multi-tasking resources 
  • Workshop assignments 3 & 4
